Masego is in the spot tonight, and the Traphousejazz trailblazer makes all the “Big Girls” feel alright in the official music video for his latest track.
Directed by Maxwell Nalevansky in a glittering nightspot, Masego and his band perform for a crowd of beautiful, plus-sized women. By the end of the mind-blowing performance, Masego is an even bigger hit with the ladies as they all flock to his side.
“I was in Nairobi, and there was a group of women that were the life of the party—I’m talkin’ Lizzo energy,” Masego revealed about the song’s inspiration in a press statement.
He continued, “I asked someone who they were, and they told me ‘that’s the Big Girls Crew.’ So I made a song about this party I went to on the great continent and just painted a scene of this cool event, called it the Cake Club, Big Girls get in free.”
“Big Girls” will appear on the official soundtrack for EA Sports’ FIFA 20, which releases on September 27.
Masego will play a string of shows this fall, including the Life Is Beautiful Music & Art Festival, CRSSD Festival, Austin City Limits and Afropunk Atlanta.
