Rhyon Brown is ready to move on. The R&B freshman addresses her bad lover on her new single “Weakend” featuring D. Smoke.
Produced by Harmony Samuels and Edgar Etienne, Brown treats this painful double entendre as an escape plan after being tired of agonizing over a wasted relationship.
D. Smoke dials up the drama on this fed-up collaboration, implying men only think with their pants.
Brown agrees with her rap co-star, and prompts a call-and-response from ladies who’ve experienced the same ill treatment.
When explaining the new song, Brown described it as the “other side” to SZA’s big hit “The Weekend.”
“In SZA’s version, she shares a man with another woman and she got the fun times with him on the weekend,” said Brown in a statement. “In my case, I’m the other woman she shares her man with but I got the “weak end” of the deal, instead of the fun times! I cooked I cleaned, I dealt with all the things a normal person goes through in a week. Men are always validating their cheating with saying “the other girl” meant nothing, but really who gets the better end of the deal?”
“Weakend” is another song up the sleeve of Brown. She previously released “Leaves” as the first taste of music for 2020.
Aside from her own music, the singer and actress made an appearance in SiR’s “You Can’t Save Me” video.
