Aren’t those friends who are down for whatever the best? THEY. sure thinks so, and make themselves available at all times on their new single “Count Me In.”

Handling vocal chores on the duo’s first release of 2020, Drew Love eagerly raises his hand high to a woman he wants to be around always. As the subtle guitar arrangements touch his melodic voice, his longing to be involved with her is more apparent.

“If I say it, then I mean it / If you need it / If you need me / If you need me / Baby, just count me in / Whatever it is / If you goin’ through some shit / I can be that touch / When you need it / Sex when you feenin’ / Love for ya feelin’s,” Love sings over the Dante Jones-produced track.

The song was expected to arrive earlier this month; however, plans shifted in wake of the protest supporting George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless Black lives lost to police brutality.

“Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do is let y’all down, but never before have I witnessed what is taking place and I think it’s more important to keep the focus on the moment that this country (and the whole world) is having right now,” Dante wrote on Instagram. “We don’t want to distract from what really matters – this black lives matter moment and bringing awareness to the issue afflicting our communities.”

“Count Me In” is taken from their upcoming sophomore album, The Amanda Tape, which is due out sometime later this year. In 2018, the creative dyad released a star-studded EP Fireside. It included appearances from Jessie Reyez, Gallant, Ty Dolla $ign and more.
