Giveon, who released his acclaimed Take Time EP earlier this year, is the latest featured artist in Spotify’s new series called Spotify Singles.
The two-track collection includes his breathtaking remake of D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” and a new acoustic version of “Like I Want U.”
For the simplified cover, the R&B newcomer plugs his powerful baritone to hypnotic acoustic-strum playing that adds intensity to this song about him being unable to convince himself a relationship is emotionally over.
Giveon is no stranger to reimagining his songs in acoustic form. Back in May, he released a stripped version of the fan-favorite “Favorite Mistake.”
Take Time has been a hit with R&B enthusiasts, making Rated R&B’s 16 best R&B projects of 2020 so far list.
