Monica has unveiled the official music video for “Until It’s Gone,” the first single from her seventh album, New Life.
The dramatic video opens with a couple, played by Malinda Williams and Brian White, arguing in a car. The girlfriend (Williams) is confronting her boyfriend (White), who has been cheating on her. Moments later, the two get in a devasting car accident, which sends them to the hospital.
Monica plays Malinda’s best friend, who continues to remind Brian of what he’s losing. You’ll have to watch the video to see how things turned out.
New Life is now scheduled to arrive in stores Dec. 13.
The upcoming album is the follow-up to the “Miss Thang” singer’s 2010 album, Still Standing. The latter album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 184,000 copies in the first week.
Still Standing included the Grammy-nominated ballad “Everything To Me,” which earned Monica a nod for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 53rd Grammy Awards.
The heartfelt song was produced by Missy Elliott and Cainon Lamb, who co-wrote it with Jazmine Sullivan.
Additionally, Still Standing included “Love All Over Me,” produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, plus more production by Polow Da Don, Jim Jonsin, StarGate, Bei Maejor, and others.
