Following up her 2011 album, “Pieces of Me,” Ledisi is back and has premiered her newest single, “I Blame You.”
Don’t be mistaken by the song’s seemingly negative title. “I Blame You” is a love song from the New Orleans native, placing blame on the one who has stolen her heart.
“It’s about a relationship and you’re excited about the person making you excited about you, again. So, you’re blaming that person for bringing some light into your life,” the singer told ESSENCE.
Ledisi also told ESSENCE that she is referring to someone special in “I Blame You,” who makes her feel what she’s singing.
“I have experienced someone radiating light into my world and making me feel good about me,” she said. “It’s also about feeling good about you first, then enhancing that… Someone is making me smile and it feels good!”
“I Blame You” will be available on iTunes on September 30.
According to Ledisi, “I Blame You” is a piece of her new album that fans can anticipate. Until the release of her upcoming album, check out “I Blame You” below.
