Ywada is a force to be reckoned with. Like many great singers, the Florida native started singing in the church at the tender age of five. At time she knew exactly what she wanted to do when she ‘grew up’ — sing. “I knew from then that singing was something that I had a passion for,” Ywada tells Rated RnB. “Anytime I have the opportunity to share the love I have for that real good feel good music is always a wonderful experience to do that,” she continues. Ywada cites vocal powerhouses such as Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Yolanda Adams, and Kim Burrell as her musical influences.
Ywada continues to gain buzz as her new single “End of the Road” climbs the Urban AC radio chart. “It’s very exciting and humbling because everyone doesn’t get the chance the share the music that they make,” she says.
The song serves as the lead single from Ywada’s forthcoming EP, “Perception Against Reality,” which she explains will take listeners on a musical journey. “It takes you from different types of emotions — love, pain, happy, sad, good times, growth, independence — it takes you on a huge journey.”
In a span of six years, the rising singer has opened for R&B artists like Fantasia, Anthony Hamilton, and Keyshia Cole. She only hopes to continue to do bigger and better things to take her music career to the next level.
“Perception Against Reality” is scheduled to release this fall. Be sure to cop Ywada’s “End of the Road” on iTunes.
