August Alsina recounts his dark days on the streets of New Orleans on “Hell On Earth,” lifted from his chart-topping EP “Downtown: Life Under The Gun.” On the telling-track, the rising R&B star talks about the tough times he endured on his rise to success, crediting his optimistic attitude for witnessing his new and better life.
“Cause I found the light at the end of the tunnel/that’s why I kept my heads high/instead of selling my faith/sitting here wishing I would die,” sings Alsina.
