Def Jam artist August Alsina recently stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about music, his career and upbringing.
Alsina digs deep into his reasons for releasing an EP instead of an album with The Breakfast Club, and even talks about dating the same girl as collaborator Kidd Kidd.
The two part interview continues with Angela Yee asking about his family influences on his musical talent.
Alsina says that no one in his family had musical connections, and first did not know he was vocally talented.
“I was watching ‘Sister Act 2,'” Alsina said. “I saw Lauryn Hill, and I said wanted to do that.”
