As the month of October comes to a close, we end the Throwback Thursday duet theme with an 80’s classic — “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. The record was used as the theme song for a film with the exact same name.

The perfect wedding song scored success for Ross and Richie, making it one of their biggest hits to date. The song topped Billboard’s Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Black Singles chart. It also landed the duo a top 10 hit in the UK (No.7) along with chart-topping success in Sweden and Canada among others.
“Endless Love” notched an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song and won the Motown legends an American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Single.
Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross would cover the tune in 1994, scoring a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
