This week’s installment of Throwback Thursday features R&B trio Blaque, popular girl group during the late 90’s/early 00’s era.
Blaque, an acronym for Believing, Life, Achieving, Quest, Unity, Everything was an R&B girl group from Atlanta. Founding members Natina Reed and Shamari Fears met while in high school and later recruited Brandi Williams to round out the trio. The girls were signed to Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ Left Eye Productions and released their debut self-titled album in 1999.
“Bring It All To Me” samples R&B/Disco group Shalamar’s single “I Don’t Wanna Be the Last to Know.” Shalamar is best known for their 1982 hit “A Night to Remember.”
“Bring It All To Me” peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

Fun fact: The members of Blaque appeared in the teen comedy film “Bring It On” in 2000 as characters Lava, Jenelope and LaFred. The group also contributed their song “As If” to the movie’s soundtrack.
