R&B entertainer Usher will appear on “Sesame Street” for its “word of the day” segment on Thurs., Jan. 23 to discuss the meaning of the of being unique.
The R&B veteran will show off his dance moves with “Sesame Street” favorite Bert as the twosome discusses things that are “one of a kind.”
In other news, the “Caught Up” singer is in the studio working on his eighth album. According to singer-songwriter Eric Bellinger, who has collaborated with Usher in the past, Usher will focus more on making R&B music on his upcoming album. “He’s done so many genres of music and excelled in every area,” says Bellinger. ”So now he’s like, ‘Cool. What’s left for me to do? I’ve done everything. So, I’m going to take it back to R&B, timeless music.’ ”
Usher was a vocal coach on season 4 of NBC’s The Voice, standing in for Cee-Lo Green. He will appear again on the show for its sixth season. CEO of RCA Records Peter Edge said in an interview that Usher will use the show as a platform to promote his new music. “He’ll have a record to tie in with The Voice when he returns in the spring,” said Edge to Hits Daily Double.
