As Memphis-bred artist K. Michelle works late nights to complete her sophomore album, she continues to surprise her fans with who she’s bringing aboard for the new project.
K. Michelle Taps Sevyn Streeter And Stacy Barthe For Sophomore Album
Last month, “The Same Man” singer was spotted in the studio with seasoned singer-songwriters Stacy Barthe and Sevyn Streeter. Now, Michelle calls on the assistance of Harvey Mason Jr, who’s one half of the music duo The Underdogs. If you’re not familiar with Mason’s impressive resume, here’s a quick run down of who he has worked with: Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Babyface, Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Omarion, Solange, Jennifer Hudson, Luther Vandross, Mario, Fantasia, Chris Brown and TGT, among many others.
With Sevyn Streeter, Stacy Barthe and Harvey Marson Jr. signed on for K’s new album, a Grammy nomination could be knocking on her door pretty soon.
K. Michelle’s sophomore set will serve as the follow-up album to her 2013 debut “Rebellious Soul,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. As of April 2014, the album has sold 233,000. However, those numbers could increase with her “Rebellious Soul” musical set to premiere this August on VH1.
