While Mariah Carey’s new album “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse,” is expected to sell her lowest first week sales to date, the R&B/pop diva muscles through the rest of her promotional campaign with her special “Mariah Carey: At Home In Concert With Matt Lauer” on Saturday (May 31).
She chatted with Matt Lauer about her new project, her childhood and her life as a mother, among other topics. Then, from “The Aspen Room” to the balcony of her nice mansion, the music icon performed tracks off her 14th studio set including “Money ($*/…)” with rapper Fabolous and her uplifting hymn “Heavenly (No Way Tired/Can’t Give Up Now” with a full gospel choir. She also performed her No. 1 song “We Belong Together.”
According to Billboard, “Me. I Am Mariah” could potentially debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 next week. However, the final numbers and chart positions will be announced next week via Billboard and Hits Daily Double.
