On Thursday evening (March 19), Solange Knowles had the Twitter world going bananas after she paid homage to rapper and style icon Lil’ Kim.
The Saint Heron artist posted a series of photos on her social media account in colorful furs. First, draped in a green fleece, Knowles recreated the Emerald City Sequence from the musical, The Wiz.
The Houston native continued to show her admiration for the film by uploading more photos in bright furs as well as shots from Lil’ Kim’s memorable “Crush on You” music video.
The La Bella Mafia MC caught wind of Knowles’ praise and returned the compliment by calling the Solo Star “gorgeous.”
Soon after, the two entertainers exchange sweet comments. “You da best mama!!!!,” tweeted Knowles. “Seriously told the stylist/photographer I want to look like I belong in “Crush on you”) You inspire so much!”
Kim responded, “Thank U so much!!! That means a lot coming from U. Your style is so fly and so chic. Always 10’s across the board.”
It’s great to see female artists supporting one another.
