Season 12 American Idol winner Candice Glover has been working hard on the follow-up project to her debut album, Music Speaks. The vocal powerhouse took a mini break to travel to perform the National Anthem at the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors game tonight.
Glover’s rendition of the song is a great reminder of why she won American Idol in 2013. She killed it!
In an interview with Rated R&B, Glover dished on her experience singing the National Anthem. “Every single time I sing that song it’s the scariest moment of my life,” she revealed. “I don’t think that any other performance has ever touched the nerves that I get when I sing that song because it’s a really important song and you can either do too much or not enough. The main thing I think about when I’m singing is not forgetting the words. If you forget the words, that’s going to haunt you for the rest of your life.”
