Music festival season is approaching. The 2016 Roots Picnic lineup has been revealed with the help of “Broad City” co-creators Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. R&B legend Usher (backed by The Roots), Leon Bridges and rapper Future will headline the event, which takes place June 4 at Festival Pier in Philadelphia.
Usher is working on is long-awaited album, Flawed, which is scheduled to arrive some time this year. We’re pretty sure he will perform some of his signature songs, gems and new music.
Meanwhile, Bridges will be supporting his critically acclaimed debut album, Coming Home, which was released last year via Columbia Records. The album is also up for a 2016 Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
Other artists including Kehlani, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Willow Smith will also perform on the main stage.
Kehlani is still riding on the success of her Grammy-nominated mixtape, You Should Be Here, while she is working on her debut album. Paak, who released his sophomore album Malibu last month, recently signed a deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records. Smith quietly released her debut album, Ardipithecus, last December.
Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, Feb. 5 at noon. Watch Broad City announce the Roots Picnic lineup below.
