Legendary singer Prince is dead. According to The Associated Press, the “Purple Rain” singer was found dead at his home in suburban Minneapolis. He was 57.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” said his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure.
Last week, Prince was hospitalized for a bad case of the flu. In March, it was announced that Prince planned to release a memoir in 2017 called The Beautiful Ones, which would cover everything from his family life to the inspiration behind some of his classic songs.
