Maxwell made a splash last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The R&B/soul veteran performed his new single “Lake by the Ocean” for the first time on television. It was also his first televised performance in seven years. Dressed in an all white suit, Maxwell delivered a flawless performance with the help of his background singers and band.
“Lake by the Ocean” is the first single from Maxwell’s forthcoming album, blackSUMMERS’night, due out on July 1.
Next month, Maxwell will kick off his summer tour, which will run through early August.
