After a year away, Arin Ray is back to play with his brand new single “We Ain’t Homies.”
Driven by a thumping bassline and a syncopated drum, Ray is calling out all the fakes and frauds on this fiery track.
“Where were you when we was broke?/Eating ramen noodles from the cornerstone/I ain’t even see you when sh*t was low/so don’t you try to act like you really know,” he sings.
Ray, a singer-songwriter from Cincinnati, OH, first gained exposure as a contestant on the first and second season of X-Factor USA, placing tenth in the second season.
Ray has gone on to write and compose for fellow R&B artists like K. Michelle, Ro James, and Chris Brown. “We Ain’t Homies” is his first studio release since last year’s EP Phases and his debut single for Interscope Records.
