In celebration of today’s total solar eclipse, Syd has released a new track called “Bad Dream/No Looking Back.”
On “Bad Dream,” Syd sings about seducing her woman in the bedroom. “Don’t let me get you alone / I can you break you off and hold it down / Give you all the things your body’s asking for,” she sings. “You ain’t gotta lie / Know you nasty / Have you screamin like a bad dream,” she continues.”
“Bad Dream” smoothly transitions into “No Looking Back” after a minute and a half. Over the Ricci Riera produced track, Syd tries to avoid commitment. “We only kiss when we fuckin’ / So, we don’t get too attached / ‘Cause if this turns into something, you know there’s no looking back,” she sings.
“Bad Dream/No Looking Back” was written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Syd. It will appear on her forthcoming project, Almost Never Home.
In February, Syd released her debut album Fin on Interscope Records. The project included a guest appearance from buzzing artist 6LACK.
