With her new album, Let Love Rule, set to drop this Friday, Ledisi shares her BJ the Chicago Kid-assisted track “Us 4Ever.”
Produced by Rex Rideout and featuring guitarist Jairus “JMo” Mozee, Ledisi coos about her unbreakable love with her mate even after their relationship takes blow after blow.
“Rex Rideout played me this groove and immediately I wrote the chorus,” Ledisi discussed with Ebony Magazine. “After that, we were laughing while writing a song about a relationship that is slightly dysfunctional but functional. That might sound crazy to some but love is that simple and yet very complex for so many people. ‘Us 4ever’ is a poetic way of saying you get on my nerves but I love you no matter what.”
Let Love Rule will hit shelves Friday, September 22.
