Mary J. Blige has announced “Glow Up” — which features DJ Khaled, Quavo and Missy Elliott — as her next single from Strength of a Woman.
Serving as the fifth single, “Glow Up” was produced by DJ Camper and is the follow-up to “Set Me Free,” which reached No. 11 on urban AC radio.
Blige’s A&R Eddie Fourcell exclusively told Rated R&B the story behind making “Glow Up.”
“We knew we wanted a feature on it,” Fourcell said. “There were a couple of names we threw on the table but it was her idea to get Missy [Elliott] and it was my idea to get [DJ] Khaled and Quavo [from the Migos].
He continued, “‘[Glow Up]’ is the best example of what Mary J. Blige sounds like in 2017 on rhythmic radio – without taking her out of her element.”
