Trevor Jackson Drops New Song and Video: ‘B&W (Benz and My Wallet)’

September has been the month of returns for R&B artists like K. Michelle, Toni Braxton, Teairra Mari, and Xscape. Actor/singer Trevor Jackson looks to join in on the fun with his new single and video “B&W (Benz and My Wallet).”

Co-directed by Wyatt Stromer and Jackson himself, the video finds him homeless and begging for change after the girl he loves breaks his heart and robs him of his most prized possessions.

“There goes my love, and all my trust/Should’ve never gave it up/Now I’m sippin’ on a double cup/She was everything to me, my identity/Can’t believe she really got me/I was batman, didn’t know she was Robin,” he sings.

The bass-heavy cut is the first offering from his upcoming project, Rough Drafts, Pt. 1, which will be Jackson’s first dive back into music since early 2016.

As of late, Jackson had been focusing on his acting career, starring in the second season of the now-canceled ABC drama American Crime and the controversial Netflix film Burning Sands. He’ll also be a series regular alongside fellow R&B act Chloe x Halle in the Yara Shahidi-led blackish spin-off grownish, which airs this fall on Freeform.

Faye B Asks Her Man ‘Who Is She?’ on New Single

Emerging singer Faye B gets confrontational on her new single, “Who Is She?”

On the groovy tune, produced by Eu93ne, the Swiss singer suspects her man is cheating on her with another woman and gives him the ultimatum to choose the person he wants.

The track serves as the first single from Faye’s forthcoming project, The Journey, Vol. 2: The New Old Me. The EP is the follow-up to her 2016 project, The Journey, which included her single “Movin On.”

“I’m staying true to my signature sound, but I’m freshening it up a little,” Faye said in a statement. “I’ve been through a lot over the past two years, so mentally I’m in a different space now and have a lot to talk about on this EP. This is like a rebirth and I’m super proud of my new songs!”

Stream Teyana Taylor’s New Album ‘K.T.S.E.’

After an extended wait, Teyana Taylor finally delivers her sophomore album, K.T.S.E. (Keep That Same Energy).

Executive produced by Kanye West, the album is the fifth project to release within the last month as part of his G.O.O.D. Music rollout. The eight-track offering includes features from West (“Hurry”), Ty Dolla $ign (“3Way”) and Mykki Blanco (“WTP”).

The album was supposed to drop immediately on Friday at midnight, however, Taylor still needed a little more time to put finishing touches to the project. Rapper Pusha T, who is also president of G.O.O.D. Music, confirmed earlier on Friday that Taylor was still working on parts of the album.

West announced the release date on Twitter in April, along with the other G.O.O.D. Music releases. Keeping that same energy he had for the other four projects, Taylor’s album arrives with no prior singles.

On Thursday (June 21), Taylor hosted an exclusive album listening party in Los Angeles that brought out industry tastemakers and talent including her husband Iman Shumpert, Kanye West, Migos and 2 Chainz, to name a few.

Keep That Same Energy is the follow-up to Taylor’s debut album, VII, which dropped in October 2015. The album featured appearances from Chris Brown, Pusha T and Yo Gotti.

Taylor will support her new album on tour later this summer with Jeremih. The two artists will kick off their North American tour on August 3 in Tampa. The month-long tour will hit major cities including Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle, before wrapping up in Portland on September 8.
