DAWN is readying her comeback in a fierce (and petty) way. The alternative singer has released her new single “Jealousy,” off her impeding untitled project.
On the resentful track, DAWN throws direct shots at an Instagram groupie who apparently has found her way in the direct messages of her man.
“I know you feel you have a right to call him, you don’t,” she boosts. “I know you feel you have a right to take him, you don’t.”
Along with the releasing the audio of “Jealousy,” DAWN has shared its accompanying visual, which features Chief Montana of the Washitaw Nation. The Monty Marsh-directed clip, filmed in her hometown of New Orleans, “explains [her] roots in the Washitaw Nation Tribe.”
“I wanted to show New Orleans in a light most have never seen or are aware of.” comments DAWN about the “Jealously” video. “The Black Indian and Power of our traditional garb are shown in the visual. Chief Montana created my hand sewn headpiece representing the power of being both King and Queen. Our tribes spend all year beading these costumes to then dance and show off their work among other tribes.”
Last month, DAWN and her Danity Kane bandmates (Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex) announced dates for their reunion tour, The Universe is Undefeated. The tour will kick off on September 28 at The Palace Theatre in Stamford, Conn.
