Jacob Banks brings his latest single “Be Good To Me” to life with a captivating video, which he co-directed with Frmwrk and Sam Meyer.
The dramatic clip follows a black man’s harrowing escape from being held under captivity for the sake of entertainment.
“Be Good To Me” will appear on Banks’ upcoming debut album, Village, which arrives on November 2 via Interscope Records. The album will also feature previously released tracks “Chainsmoking” and “Unknown,” as well as guest appearances from Bibi Bourelly and Nana.
Speaking on the album, Banks says, “I tried to embrace all that I’ve lived through and experienced, and that gave me the mental freedom to let go and express everything I’m feeling, the good and the bad. And I think when you can pinpoint what’s really going on inside you, those themes are universal. We’re all striving for the same things – love, acceptance and an understanding of who we are.”
On November 24, Banks will launch the European leg of his Village Tour in The Netherlands, with additional stops in Sweden, Ireland, France, and England, before concluding in Switzerland. Tickets are available at mrjacobbanks.com.
