Still on a high after tying the knot with Zena Foster in July, Tank has another major reason to celebrate. Seventeen years after making his debut as a solo artist, the 42-year-old singer/songwriter can now call himself a platinum-selling artist.
His steamy single “When We,” off his 2017 album Savage, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with over one million units sold.
Elated by the news, Tank wrote on Instagram, “I was living so much of my best marriage life that I forget to give you all the good news. ‘When We’ is certified platinum! I’ve written and produced on millions of platinum albums but this is the first of my own to go platinum. I’m not getting older, I’m just getting better.”
Released in June 2016, “When We” was certified gold in February 2017. The explicit song has over 39 million streams on Spotify. This includes his official remix with Trey Songz and Ty Dolla $ign.
Tank promises “new music soon.”
