Despite releasing four new songs in a two-week period, Ari Lennox is back for another round. This time she calls on her Dreamville boss, J. Cole, for a smooth and rich new collaboration titled “Shea Butter Baby.”
Aided by a stinging guitar, the glossy union finds the pair getting frisky at the drop of a time while in the strangest of places. If it was up to Lennox, you can get “lost in the alley make love by a trash can.”
With his signee holding down vocal aspect of “Shea Butter Baby,” J. Cole spits straight bars. “Coconut oil / The scent of your body still lingers on my sheets / I got a shot at you, you wanna reach? / Cock that, cock that trigger release.”
Lennox is prepping for the coming of her debut album. The dazzling songstress kicked off her season of music in July with “Whipped Cream.”
