Ho Ho Ho. PJ Morton unleashes a festive helping of New Orleans-styled carols on his first-ever holiday album, Christmas with PJ.
Clocking 25 minutes, the eight-track stocking stuffer is engrossed in the signature sounds of NOLA like jazz, Creole, and Cajun music. Although Morton decorates Christmas with PJ with his bluesy hometown traditions, the talented musician makes sure to keep the spirit of Christmas alive through each rendition. He also invites guest stars Yolanda Adams, Stokley and Hasizzle for the sleigh-ride.
The idea of recording a Christmas was never far-fetched to Morton especially since it’s been “a big part of [his] childhood growing up.”
On November 11, Morton kicks off the North American leg of his More Gumbo Tour with special guest Grace Weber. Even though music from Christmas with PJ are “fair game” on his forthcoming tour, he added more December dates for the holiday season.
