Jordin Sparks has landed a lead role in Freeform’s upcoming new sitcom, Besties, alongside Matt Shivel and Brooks Brantly.
According to Deadline, the comedy is based in Los Angeles where Sparks will be playing Becca, a determined and hard-working young woman who was raised by a conventional and diligent Black family. Becca finds out that her birth mother is actually white and uncovers her half-sister Jesi via an online genetics test. The series will follow the sisters as they work on building a relationship.
The American Idol alum has been busy enjoying life with her husband and baby boy, so it’ll be great to see her back on the scene. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard new music and hopefully, she makes her return back to music soon.
A premiere date for Besties has yet to be announced.
