PJ Morton is bringing live albums back to life.
The singer/musician has announced his plans to record a live album at the 2019 Essence Festival, which will be held from July 4-7 in his hometown New Orleans.
Morton has already enlisted Luke James, JoJo, The Hamiltones, Mia X. and Pell for the project.
The mysterious live project will follow Morton’s Gumbo Unplugged (Live), which was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Although the award went to H.E.R., Morton still won Best Traditional R&B Performance for “How Deep Is Your Love” featuring Yebba.
