Brian McKnight is anticipating a comeback in 2019. After overindulging in alcohol on “42 (Grown Up Tipsy)” last fall, the R&B veteran returns with his new single titled “When I’m Gone.”
As a master of tender ballads, McKnight employs his gentle cadences on his latest record to sweet talk his lover about how much they miss each other when they’re apart.
McKnight is readying the official visual for “When I’m Gone.” The video is scheduled to premiere on Friday, March 1 on Vevo. The song recently received the most new adds on urban adult contemporary radio during the previous tracking week.
“When I’m Gone” and “42 (Grown Up Tipsy)” will appear on his upcoming 14th studio album. It will serve as a follow-up to 2017’s Genius, which featured the singles “Forever” and “I Want You.”
