After wrapping up his Rough Drafts Pt. 1 era, Trevor Jackson swiftly follows-up with a brand new single titled “Warning.” The upbeat tune is the first offering from Jackson’s upcoming album, Rough Drafts Pt. 2, which is slated to arrive this spring on Born Art/Empire.
Jackson also premiered his self-directed video for “Warning,” which features his Grown-ish co-star Deon Cole. In the video, which paints the horrible picture of racial profiling, Jackson and his friends pull up to a fancy restaurant. However, Cole tries every way possible to prevent them from entering the establishment.
“This is my twist on what it’s like to be Black in America, or any minority for that matter,” Jackson told Billboard. “Accused, judged, and penalized all due to your appearance. So I decided to have a little fun and the idea of our reality vs their idea of us.”
Last month, Jackson released his remix to Summer Walker’s fan-favorite track “Girls Need Love” with “Boys Need Love 2.”
