Now that winter has finally melted away, Lizzo brings the heat with a new twerk anthem called “Tempo” featuring Missy Elliott.
The upbeat tune opens with an insane guitar lick before quickly transitioning to a club banging beat. “Slow songs, they for skinny hoes / Can’t move all of this here to one of those / I’m a thick bitch, I need tempo (tempo) / Fuck it up to the tempo,” Lizzo sings on the catchy chorus.
Missy comes in for the third verse with fiyah bars.”All the fly girls head to the dance floor / Kitty cat, kitty cat, prrr / All the thick girls down on the flrrr (on the floor),” she raps.
“Tempo” is the third track shared from Lizzo’s upcoming album, Cuz I Love You, which drops on April 19 via Atlantic Records. The song follows Lizzo’s previously released records “Juice” and the title track.
