Rising singer Etta Bond has a lot of music to get off her chest. The London native, who is featured on SiR’s “Something New,” has released the first part of her double album, He’s Not Mine / He’s Mine.
The nine-track project serves as an ode to the feelings of lust. Speaking on the inspiration behind He’s Not Mine, Bond tells Rated R&B, “The album itself is about a couple of different people. I’m used to having a muse that I center and use for inspiration. I realized all of the songs were about unhealthy relationships and why they weren’t mine for a range of different reasons.
She continued, “Even if it meant they just weren’t for me or good for me. It’s about coming out of the darkness and treating myself better. And once I started doing that, He’s Mine the man and the double-album came along.”
The busy album cover shows Bond sitting in a junky room, smoking a cigarette and watching at a mysterious man as he sleeps. “[It’s] is a representation of how I felt at that time in my life,” Bond tells Rated R&B. “It literally shows what headspace I was in.”
To promote her new music, Bond is embarking on a 17-date tour across Europe and the U.K. The tour kicks off today in Paris and will hit major cities including Amsterdam, Manchester and London.
