From the depths of her soul to yours, Mereba has released her debut album The Jungle Is the Only Way Out.
The reflective 13-track record, which features 6LACK and JID, is mixed with songs and spoken word that covers love, loss, and everything in between. Along with her alternative and refreshing take on R&B, Mereba also incorporates country elements on the project.
When choosing the profound title The Jungle Is the Only Way Out, Mereba mentioned to HipHopDX the inspiration came from a personal experience.
“When I was in the process of making this, I was going through the most difficult circumstances of my life thus far, and I just got inspired by the idea of accepting the struggle,” she told the publication ahead of her listening party.
She continued, “I was going through and knowing that the only way to become what I was hoping to become, which is an artist that can inspire other people to keep going, was to actually go through it myself.”
As a deeper look into The Jungle Is the Only Way Out, Mereba premiered a stunning visual. The seven-minute clip includes tracks “Stay Tru,” “Souvenir,” and her latest single “Sandstorm” featuring J.I.D.
