August Alsina is an advocate for the new wave of R&B. Following his G-Mix of Kehlani’s “Nunya,” the New Orleans native has released his version of Khalid‘s latest hit “Talk.”
Alsina’s stylish rendition of the Khalid’s Disclosure-produced cut finds him and his bae experiencing a low in their relationship after their ideas of perfect love get lost in translation. Instead of calling it quits, the crooner opts to have a conversation about where they both see things going.
For Khalid, he’s on a high with Free Spirit album on target to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 next week. The R&B newbie is also preparing for a number of events, including Coachella and the 2019 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas in May.
Meanwhile, Alsina has a new EP out titled Forever and a Day. The release serves as a place holder until he finishes his long-awaited follow-up to his 2015 album This Thing Called Life. According to Alsina, his previous record label, Def Jam Recordings, played a significant role in holding his third album hostage.
