DJ Camper and John Legend are back at it. Six years after collaborating on “Dreams” and “Wanna Be Loved” off Legend’s Grammy-nominated Love in the Future album, the two musicians are in the studio crafting more romantic sounds.
Camper uploaded two black-and-white photos of himself and Legend in the studio. The hitmaker captioned the two shots with a joke about “sending fan mail online in seventh grade” to let the renowned pianist know he wanted to meet him one day.
As of right now, there’s no word on where Camper and Legend’s new teamwork will land. The new song could appear on Legend’s successor to 2016’s Darkness and Light.
Ahead of his debut on NBC’s The Voice, Legend released harrowing video for a moving record titled “Preach.” It was the first non-holiday offering since his 2018 festive album A Legendary Christmas.
Legend isn’t the only artist Camper has been seen in the studio with lately. The gifted creative is the mastermind behind new records for Kelly Rowland, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, and H.E.R., who featured Camper’s production and pen game on her Grammy-winning eponymous EP.
