Janet Jackson is still in Control. Nearly 33 years after its global release, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s newest inductee’s third studio album will be reissued on vinyl for the second time.
Set to arrive on June 7 via A&M/UMe, the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-spearheaded record will feature all-nine recordings from the original LP, including her five number one singles “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” “Nasty,” “Let’s Wait Awhile,” “The Pleasure Principle,” and the title track.
According to the press release, Control will be available in two different color options: black and translucent red.
Ahead of its vinyl release date, Jackson’s fans can get their hands on the long-playing LP at her Metamorphosis Vegas residency. The first show kicks off on May 17 in Las Vegas at Park Theater.
Control, Jackson’s first album to top the Billboard 200, has been certified five-times platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold 10 million copies sold worldwide. At the 29th Annual Grammy Awards in 1987, Control earned a nomination for Album of the Year.
On June 30, Jackson will headline the Glastonbury Festival 2019 near Pilton, Somerset, England. She is slated to perform on night-five of the aboard festival.
