Sacrificing yourself for your family isn’t always easy, especially when it goes unappreciated. Lady Wray explains it perfectly in her new bittersweet single titled “Piece Of Me.”
The songster effortlessly lets her emotions flow as she sings over the soulfully reminiscent beat that includes a melancholy mix of guitars, piano, and drums. On the hook, she painfully sings, “I let you take a piece of me / I hope you get the piece you need / And if that’s not enough / I’ll let you go peacefully.”
“Piece of Me” is the first taste of new music from Wray since 2016’s Queen Alone. The album featured the fresh single “Do It Again.”
With the new single out, Wray will be able to perform this and her previous bangers in Brooklyn, New York, at Industry City on June 7. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
