Yuna has made it to “Forevermore” on her first record of 2019.
This lustrous solo bears the beaming spirit of someone who has escaped to subjective space that contributes to their peace of mind. With assistance from a celestial backdrop, Yuna uses her airy intones to “reach even higher” as she prepares to make landfall to euphoria.
“Forevermore’ is a song that I wrote about coming from a small country, I grew up in a small town and how that made me strive to be the best that I can be,” said Yuna in a statement about the new music.
Yuna premiered a music video for “Forevermore” that she describes as a “fantastical depiction of my home and childhood.”
“Forevermore” is the follow up to “Better Now,” which Yuna released in December 2018. She is working on a successor to Chapters, her third studio album. The LP featured her breakout single “Crush” featuring Usher.
“I decided to reach out to Usher because we met once a long time ago and we talked about music,” Yuna told Rated R&B in 2016. “So when I wrote ‘Crush,’ I was like “let’s just ask him and see if he would be down to be a part of this.” He said yes and he did an incredible job on the track.”
