She isn’t repping for R&B/soul music alone, though. Lizzo, Lucky Daye, and Kiana Lede are among the first group of performers. Each act has new music to perform. Daye (Painted) and Lizzo (Cuz I Love You) have selections from their major label debut albums, while Lede’s new single “Can I” is a possible option.
Beyoncé is the most nominated R&B/soul artist at the upcoming show with a total of four nods, including Album of the Year for Everything is Love.
Hosted by comedian and actress Regina Hall, the 2019 BET Awards will take place live on Sunday, June 23 at 8 p.m. EST from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
