Beyoncé is not taking her foot off our necks. Just hours after revealing the track listing for her executive-produced album The Lion King: The Gift, the global superstar has debuted a powerful video for “Spirit.”
From the beautiful wardrobe and choreography to the hairstyles and gorgeous scenery, this artistically amazing visual captures Beyoncé’s deep appreciation for the African culture. Also, her warm motherly embrace to her oldest daughter Blue Ivy, who makes a cameo in the video, is another iconic moment.
The new video also includes scenes from the live-action remake of the 1994 animated film.
“Spirit” is lifted from The Lion King: The Gift album, which will arrive on Friday, July 19. The inspirational solo also appears on the original motion picture soundtrack that is available now.
The Beyoncé-helmed album is loaded with guest appearances, including JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Jessie Reyez, Burna Boy, Tierra Whack, and more.
In other BEYHIVE reports, the multi-awarded artist, who portrays an adult Nala in The Lion King, earned six Emmy nominations for her Netflix film, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
The special is up for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Costumes For Variety.
The 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
