Breakout star Lizzo has scored her first top 10 record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. “Truth Hurts,” the latest single from her Cuz I Love You album, has bounced five spots to No. 6 after nine weeks on the popular singles chart.
This breakup anthem, which was originally released in September 2017, has been drumming up attention on the Hot 100 chart since reappearing on the deluxe edition of her major-label debut. The gain in streams helped the song debut at No. 50 during the week of May 18.
Lizzo shared her reaction to the top 10 news on Twitter in a series of hilarious posts, including one of her crying. She thanked the Lizzbans, her fan base, for making the chart feat happen. She also made it clear that “the world will be 100% that bitch” if “Truth Hurts” goes number one.
