Ne-Yo has unlocked a new alter-ago for his guest spot on IFC’s new variety sketch series Sherman’s Showcase.
OYEN is the frontman for his funk band Galaxia. He introduces his other self and his space-age group with a musical contribution for the show called “Time Loop.”
The futuristic jam, which was co-produced by Phone Coleman and Lorenzo Ferguson, finds the sensational bunch singing about time traveling and righting your wrongs. The song also gets packaged with an ultramodern music video.
Executive produced by John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Company and Radical Media, Sherman’s Showcase, which stars Diallo Riddle, and Bashir Salahuddin, will include other big names including Quincy Jones, Common, Tiffany Haddish, and many more.
Earlier this year, Ne-Yo released a New Jack Swing-inspired track titled “Genesis.” The track appeared on the Step Up: High Water soundtrack.
Sherman’s Showcase premieres tonight on IFC at 10 p.m. ET.
