Raphael Saadiq’s name looks good in the top 10 rankings on urban adult contemporary radio.
His promising new single “Something Keeps Calling” featuring Rob Bacon has soared from No. 13 to No. 9, with nearly 5.5 million impressions from 89 monitored urban AC stations.
This post-funk collaboration is by no means the first top 10 single on urban AC radio for Saadiq. But, believe it or not, it’s his first chart ink since 2009’s “Never Give You Up” featuring Stevie Wonder and CJ Hilton.
Based on these recent radio findings, “Something Keeps Calling” has a strong chance to occupy a top 10 position next week on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart. The song remains at No. 12 for a second week on this chart.
“Something Keeps Calling” is the lead single from his forthcoming album, Jimmy Lee, due August 23 via Columbia Records. He recently premiered another track titled “Glory to the Veins.”
Saadiq will support his first album since 2011’s Stone Rollin’ with a promotional tour that kicks off on the project’s release date. The first show is in Los Angeles at El Rey Theatre.
