Black excellence is coming to a silver screen near you. Solange has revealed that an extended director’s cut of her album’s companion film When I Get Home will debut in select theaters and museums across the nation and Europe this month.
Directed and edited by Knowles — with assistance from Alan Ferguson, Terence Nance, Jacolby Satterwhite, and Ray Tintori — the encore edition of this visual masterpiece will include new scenes and a musical score. The film will also feature additional works of art by Houston artists Autumn Knight, Robert Pruitt, and Gio Escobar of Standing on The Corner.
The remastered picture will make its cinematic premiere on July 17 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston before the final screening on October 13 in Marfa, Texas at The Chinati Foundation.
For fans who aren’t able to attend one of the special screenings for the visual masterpiece, they can own it digitally on August 5.
Ticket information for full screenings is available on BlackPlanet.
