Tori Kelly is allowing her personal life to carry her next album titled Inspired by True Events, set to release on August 9 via Capitol Records. The album will follow Kelly’s Grammy-winning gospel album, Hiding Place.
Described as her “most vulnerable album to date,” Inspired by True Events will include the lead single “Change My Mind.” She also dropped a coming-of-age video to accompany the refreshing track.
“I’m just kind of opening up about the last couple years [and] some of the things that have gone down in my personal life,” Kelly said to Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima. “It’s just really, really personal songs. I poured my whole heart into it and I’m excited for people to hear.”
In addition to album’s lead single, Kelly just released the video for the second offering “Sorry Would Go a Long Way.” The beautiful song is another look into the life of Kelly, who doesn’t hold back her feelings here.
