Arin Ray’s music dream has come true. After years of promise, the rising singer has connected with Kehlani on a nostalgic new single called “Change.”
The production of Ray and Kehlani’s soulful meeting lies into the hands of 112’s hit “Only You.” Ray starts his verse of emotional love song with a few cliché pickup lines like “I know you get tired from runnin’ through my mind.”
Kehlani joins the conversation on the second verse, indicating her stance on the on-and-off-again romance. “You can’t keep comin’ and goin’ / In and out of my life, please make up your fuckin mind,” she sings.
“This is a few years in the making, always been a big fan of everything this woman does,” wrote Ray on Instagram about finally collaborating with Kehlani. “Aside from the records, I just love who she is and what she stands for. this my homie for real for real lol.”
“Change” follows Ray’s standalone single “Rose,” which released in February. Before 2018 ended, he updated his debut album Platinum Fire with three new songs. He dropped the video for “Reckless” earlier this year.
As for Kehlani, she released a mixtape called While We Wait before giving birth to her daughter Adeya in March. It includes her gold-selling single “Nights Like This” featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
