Keke Palmer is receiving all her things this year. On top of starring in the Hustlers next month, the multi-talented star is now the new co-host of the third hour of the Good Morning America spin-off with Michael Strahan and Sara Haines.
ABC broke the exciting news about Palmer’s addition to the Strahan & Sara morning talk show during the Monday taping (Aug. 26), which also happened to be Palmer’s 26th birthday. The cameras were rolling to catch her reaction to official announcement.
With Palmer onboard for the show, the hour block has been renamed GM3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.
“Disney was my first entertainment home when I began my career in entertainment. They always created a space for me to take the stage and express my many faces. Here we are again, 15 years later, still growing together,” wrote Palmer on Instagram.
Palmer joined the couch as a guest host on Strahan & Sara in June while Haines was on maternity leave. Rory Albanese, the show’s executive producer, felt Palmer brought a “unique and spontaneous energy” that resonated with viewers.
He added, “She’s a multi-talented artist, and I’m thrilled to have her join Michael and Sara every day. The three of them are a terrific team, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Palmer, who recently dropped a new single titled “Twerk N Flirt,” is no stranger to hosting a show. In 2014, she became the youngest talk show host in history for her BET slot Just Keke.
If you won’t be able to catch Palmer on your TV screens during the day, head to theaters on September 13 to see her in the strip club drama Hustlers alongside Lizzo.
